Merino Ewe Lambs sell for $330/head
Due to surplus to requirements, we offered 600 commercial Merino ewe lambs in the spring off-shears season and received $330/head. We are really happy with this result. Demand is strong for lambs with 45-50mm staple length wool at 10-12 months old. We were able to meet the buyer’s requirements for a win-win outcome for all.
These sheep would normally be sold in the spring but this was a good opportunity to lighten off stock numbers at our Hallett properties due to the previous two dry seasons leaving us with little ground cover in the autumn.
