COLLINSVILLE 2026 ON PROPERTY SALE HIGHLIGHTS

Collinsville offered and sold 510 rams at the 2026 on property sale, with a top price of $78,000 paid for Lot 1, Collinsville Cruden 250008, purchased by Old Ashrose Merino and Poll Merino Stud, Hallett SA, with semen shares to North Ashrose Merino and Poll Merino Stud, Gulnare SA, and Kolindale Stud, Dudinin WA.

Included in the sale were 30 specially selected stud rams averaging $14,017, and 480 commercial rams averaging $2,381.

George Millington, Collinsville Stud Merinos, said the result is very positive, and reflective of the season across southern Australia.

“We are very fortunate to be in the position where we are with the industry at the minute. We’ve got wool in the 98th decile in terms of returns over seven years and we’ve nearly got record prices for lamb and record prices for mutton – and it’s rained. It’s rare that all of those things align and it’s even harder to make that align for Merinos, which highlights the fact that Merinos are a dual purpose animal.”

Alistair Keller, Elders Stud Stock SA, said the sale was brilliant with more in attendance than ever before.

“Presentation of the rams was unbelievable.”
