Ram Lamb Shearing
  • Post published:23 May 2018

At Collinsville, each ram lamb has an electronic tag. Ram lambs are identified, weighed and fleece samples are taken to arise at data to select the heavy cutting genetics within our Stud combined with the wool test data that we receive back. The wool test figures provide us with information on each ram lamb’s fleece micron count, comfort factor, standard deviation and coefficient of variation. This information will stay with the animal for its entire life and can be pulled up any time when we scan its tag again in a classing race.
